Overview

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is where Uganda’s southern white rhinos are being bred back after the species vanished from the country. A ranger takes you on foot through the bush to within a few metres of them.

It is about three hours from Entebbe or Kampala, so most guests pair it with the drive to Murchison Falls. As a stand-alone day it suits travellers with one free day and a wish to be outdoors.

Highlights

  • Southern white rhinos on foot with a ranger
