Overview

This is the easy coastal safari: the elephants of Addo, which are some of the easiest in Africa to see, and the Garden Route, with its forests, lagoons and white beaches. Both are malaria-free, so it suits families and anyone who would rather not take tablets.

You fly from Cape Town to Gqeberha, spend two nights at Gorah Elephant Camp, then drive the coast to Plettenberg Bay for three nights.

Highlights

  • Elephants and the Big Five at Addo
  • Two nights at Gorah Elephant Camp
  • The Tsitsikamma forest and the coast
  • Robberg and the beaches of Plettenberg Bay
  • Malaria-free throughout
