Overview

This is Uganda away from the gorilla trail. You start at the source of the Nile, climb to the waterfalls and coffee farms of Mount Elgon, cross Karamoja to the wilderness of Kidepo, and finish at Murchison Falls and Ziwa.

It mixes adventure, culture and game viewing, and it is quiet: few visitors take this route, so the lodges and parks feel like your own.

Highlights

  • Boat trip to the source of the Nile at Jinja
  • The three Sipi Falls and a coffee farm visit
  • Forest walk on Mount Elgon
  • Game drives in Kidepo Valley and a Karamojong village
