Overview

This is the classic northern Tanzania route by road. It runs through Tarangire and Lake Manyara, across the Ngorongoro highlands to the Serengeti, and back by Ngorongoro Crater.

It is a long route for five days, with a very long drive to the Serengeti on the second day. For an easier trip, choose the fly-in versions, but this one is the best value for travellers who want all four parks.

Highlights

  • Elephant herds and baobabs at Tarangire
  • A stop at Lake Manyara
  • Two nights in the central Serengeti
  • Olduvai Gorge on the way
  • Ngorongoro Crater
