Overview

Savuti is the Botswana for predators. A channel that sometimes flows and sometimes dries draws elephants and zebra, and the lions and spotted hyenas that follow them are some of the most watched in Africa. Add the elephant herds of the Chobe River and you have two very different sides of the same park.

Two nights at Chobe Game Lodge and two at Savute Elephant Lodge, with a flight between them, make a compact, rewarding safari.

Highlights

  • Lions and spotted hyenas at Savuti
  • Elephants at the lodge waterhole
  • Elephant herds and boat cruises on the Chobe River
  • San rock paintings on the Gubatsa hills
  • A short flight between the two
