Overview

This is the classic Mara safari by road. You cross the Rift Valley on the way from Nairobi, which is a view in itself, and then spend three nights in the reserve, so your game drives are not rushed.

Governors’ Camp sits on the Mara River, which means hippos, crocodiles and the chance of seeing the river crossings in the migration season.

Highlights

  • The view across the Rift Valley
  • Game drives for lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant
  • Three nights at Governors’ Camp on the Mara River
  • A visit to a Maasai village
  • The Great Migration from July to October
