Overview

Canoeing the side channels of the Lower Zambezi is one of the most peaceful ways to see wildlife in Africa. You drift past grazing elephants, buffalo on the banks and fish eagles calling overhead.

Chiawa Camp has been guiding here since 1989, and its team makes every day feel easy.

The camp is open from late April to mid-November and closes for the rains, so this safari runs in the dry season only.

Highlights

  • Canoeing among elephants
  • Tigerfishing on the Zambezi
  • Walks and game drives
  • Sundowners on a sandbank
