Burera and Ruhondo lie side by side below the volcanoes, separated by a narrow ridge, and they are among the prettiest places in Rwanda. A day here is a gentle counterpoint to gorilla trekking.
You paddle a canoe with a local guide in the morning, have lunch on the shore and walk the ridge between the lakes in the afternoon, through small farms and villages.
