Overview

Jinja is where the Nile leaves Lake Victoria, and a boat is the best way to see it. You travel out to the spot where the river begins, look for kingfishers and herons along the banks, and have lunch above the water.

It is an easy day, two to three hours each way by road, and a good first look at Uganda for anyone with a free day.
