Liuwa Plain is a place most travellers have never heard of. Each year, around November, tens of thousands of wildebeest gather on its open grass, with zebra, hyenas, lions and cheetahs following them, under an enormous sky. There are no crowds, no queues and almost no other vehicles.
Five nights at King Lewanika Lodge, run in partnership with African Parks, give you game drives across the plain, walks near the camp and long evenings under the stars.
The lodge opens in late October and closes in December, so this trip runs only in those weeks.
