The Kunene is the wildest corner of Namibia: red mountains, dry riverbeds and a green river on the border with Angola, and the home of the Himba, semi-nomadic herders who keep their own way of life. Epupa Falls drops through palm-lined channels, and Serra Cafema, at the end of the world, is one of the most remote camps in Africa.
You begin at Etosha, then fly north to the Kunene, with visits to Himba families led by local guides, and boat trips and walks on the river.
