Overview

Murchison Falls is Uganda’s largest national park and, for many people, its most dramatic. The whole weight of the Nile squeezes through a gap in the rock and explodes into the gorge below, and downstream the river is thick with hippo, crocodile and birdlife.

On the way north we stop at Ziwa to walk with white rhino, the only place in Uganda to see them. Two nights on the riverbank give you a full day of game drives and a boat ride to the foot of the falls.

Highlights

  • Rhino tracking on foot at Ziwa Sanctuary
  • Game drive on the Buligi plains for giraffe, elephant and lion
  • Boat safari to the foot of Murchison Falls
  • Standing at the top of the falls as the Nile thunders past
