Overview

The south of Tanzania is wilder and quieter than the north. Nyerere, the old Selous, is a land of rivers and lakes, where you can safari by boat and on foot as well as by vehicle. Ruaha is dry and rugged, with large elephant herds, baobabs, kudu and lions.

Flights link the two parks and Dar es Salaam, so the trip is almost all time in the bush.
